The short version

GeoWire does not use cookies, does not track you, and does not collect personal data. We use your browser's localStorage to save your preferences — nothing more.

What we store

We use localStorage (browser-side only, never sent to our servers) to save:

Theme preference — light or dark mode
Tag filter selection — your active topic filters
Banner dismissal — whether you've closed the info banner

You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for geowire.online.

What we don't collect

No cookies
No analytics or tracking scripts (no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel)
No personal information
No IP address logging
No fingerprinting

Hosting

GeoWire is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and Workers. Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of their infrastructure. This is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

External links

News headlines link to external sources (Reuters, Bloomberg, Al Jazeera, etc.). Once you click an external link, that site's privacy policy applies. We have no control over third-party content or tracking.

Donations

If you choose to donate, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment information. Stripe handles all financial data under their own privacy policy.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Significant changes will be noted with an updated date at the top.
